46 ACRE ISLAND ON TROUT LAKE, LESS THEN 1/2 HOUR FROM SAULT STE MARIE, MICHIGAN
$495,000.00 Nestled in the rolling hills of the Canadian Shield, just 15 miles north of Sault Ste. Marie Ontario, in the deep and crystal clear waters of Trout Lake, is this beautifully wooded, centrally located, one-of-a-kind island.
Islands of this size on inland lakes are few and far between!
Over 46 acres in size and 2.6 miles of shoreline, this island is rich with mature white pines, oak, yellow birch, maple, hemlock and cedar.
The Island is only one mile by water form a marina (a boat ride of about 10 minutes), which is only 25 minutes from the International Border and the beginning of Interstate Highway I-75.
Abundant with Lake Trout, you can also fish for Yellow Perch , Splake and Rock Bass.
From Trout Lake, you'll also have access to the hundreds of lakes and rivers of Northern Ontario, where hunting and fishing abounds.
The island provides many opportunities for building sites, whether it is tucked in a cove, or high up on a bluff. The 'narrows' near the middle of the island, offer a site to build with an exquisite view from both the north and the south shore of the island, and the small cove on the south side of the west part of the island is excellent for mooring a floatplane.
The Island consists of four lots about 1/2 acre in size each and the remaining large undivided portion of the island at 44 acres. Two of the four lots have older cabins on them, offering comfortable accommodations.
This island would lend itself to an ideal corporate retreat or as a family compound. This is an excellent investment opportunity that includes the four lots in addition to the large remaining portion of the island. The entire island could be yours!
Trout Lake itself is over 620 acres in size and has a perimeter shoreline of 10.5 miles encompassing the crystal clear waters. The lake reaches depths over 170 feet, and has an average depth of 53 ft. These conditions make for optimal Lake Trout fishing, along with Yellow Perch, Splake and Rock Bass.
The Trout Lake Cabins & Marina (www.troutlakecabins.com), located on the west side of the lake has 600 feet of shoreline to provide you with docking and boat launching services and the marina has year round access.
On the east side of Trout Lake is the long sandy beach, open to all the cottagers, where you can enjoy fun, sun and sand with the Trout Lake community. Meet your neighbours and friends here!
This lake has everything, all within a short drive from Sault Ste. Marie and the International boarder.
This is the most beautiful island on an inland lake in Ontario that I have ever seen!

YOUR OWN LAKE, CLOSE TO THE MINNESOTA BORDER PLUS 108 ACRES
$220,000.00 WHO SAY’S YOU CAN’T OWN YOUR OWN LAKE ?
This property is located in Scoble Township, Neebing Municipality, District of Thunder Bay.
They call this lake Pictured Lake for a reason, and that's because there are ancient native pictographs on the rock faces of the lake. Check out the two pictographs in our picture section.
THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO OWN A PROPERTY WITH ANCIENT HISTORY DEPICTED ON THE ROCK WALLS OF THE LAKE.
The closest major city is the City of Thunder Bay, located approximately 30 kms ( 18 miles ) northeast of the property.
The Minnesota/Ontario border crossing at Pigeon River is approximately 45 kms ( 28 miles ) south of the property.
We offer 108 Acres of land with all of Pictured Lake within the property boundaries.
The property was patented in 1912 and we include a copy of the 1912 survey in the map section.
Oliver Lake is located just across the road near the westerly boundary of the property.
Pictured Lake is approximately 32 acres in size. The lake has a maximum depth of about 20 feet.
Neighbors tell us that the lake has Walleye, Northern Pike and sometimes the odd Lake Trout that may come from Oliver Lake up the creek and into Pictured Lake.
The immediate area around this property consists mainly of vacant land and some seasonal recreational cabins.
The property is primarily tree covered with mature stands.
Two creeks flow into the lake and one creek flows out and into Oliver Lake.
The lake shore is a mix of high rock face cliffs on the south side of the lake, some rock cliff areas on the north side and some marshy areas on the west end and the east end where the creeks flow.
There are some really nice private building spots to build a cabin on.
At the present time there is no roadway into the property. The owner is constructing a roadway into the property this summer. This roadway will be constructed so that a car or an SUV can be driven to a building site.
The following is a little bit about the Municipality of Neebing: On January 1, 1999 the present Municipality of Neebing was incorporated by amalgamating the Municipality of Neebing (originally in 1881 Blake, Crooks and Pardee) with Pearson and Scoble Townships. The municipality covers an area of approximately 332 sq. miles (860 sq. km) in size and is larger than the neighbouring City of Thunder Bay, 18 miles (30 km) to the north. This vast area is interwoven with 87 primary and secondary roads to give a travelling distance of some 161 miles (259 km). To look at a map of the area, one would see that Neebing bounds on the U.S.A. to the south, Lake Superior to the east, the Corporation of the Township of Paipoonge to the north, and to the west the bordering communities of Gillies and O’’Connor. Approximately 75% of the surface area of Neebing is covered with marketable forest while the other 25% is either rural residential, recreational, farm land or privately owned vacant land intermixed with crown land. (crown land covers approximately 25% of the total area of Neebing). Neebing is a bedroom community comprising 736 single dwelling units, 69 farms, and 298 recreational dwelling units that dot the shore lines of the many lakes within its boundaries. The total permanent population of Neebing is 1,850 people, however, due to occupancy of summer camps Neebing’’s population increases during the warmer months. Neebing is unique for a number of things. It’’s scenic value is incredible. With a sweep of the eyes from almost any location or direction one can see rolling fields and cultivated farm lands end abruptly at the base of massive imposing rock formations of fragmented bedrock and boulders. These ““mountains”” are crowned with forests. A mix of low range mountain outcroppings, rivers, wetlands, lakes and mature forest offers some of the most spectacular scenic views. Adding Lake Superior leaves one breathless. Highway 61, the major highway linking Canada with the USA at the Pigeon River border crossing goes right through the Municipality of Neebing .
