Located on the northeast shore of Cranberry Island in Lower Shebandowan Lake, this winterized cottage on 1.64 acres is a haven for outdoor people.
Located in the Township of Hagey, approximately 50 minutes west of the city of Thunder Bay and only 1 ˝ hours away from the Minnesota/Ontario Pigeon River border crossing and three hours from International Falls, Minnesota, Shebandowan Lake has been a favourite recreational destination for seven decades. Fishing (including ice fishing) of walleye, northern pike; smallmouth bass, hunting of large and small game, groomed snowmobile adventure trails linked to an Ontario Association are all activities sure to appease the wild at heart.
This property offers an 1,100 square foot cottage, a large sauna with a bed sitting room for extra guests, three outbuildings, a sandy beach and very private wooded acreage. Built in 1982, the cottage has three bedrooms .
An indoor bathroom with a gravity feed toilet plus an “on demand” hot water heater allow this cottage to have all the conveniences of home.
The large sunken living room has a 10 foot ceiling and a beautiful black ash floor. It has a paramount view of the lake.
The bedrooms are all of a good size and all have a closet.
The eat-in kitchen is spacious and bright and comes with propane fired refrigerator and stove.
The heat source is from a high efficiency wood stove.
The cottage is winterized and has its own private well water supply.
A complete solar power system provides lighting to all powered buildings.
There is a wrap around deck on three sides of the cottage that gives you a stunning view of the lake. The deck also connects the cottage with the sauna.
Grass frontage takes you to the beach and the lake.
The sauna is modern, has a deck and a bed sitting room that provides unlimited leisure and relaxation. It can be used as a private guest house as the sitting room has a double bed and sitting area.
There are some storage sheds, a tool shed, a shed for storage of the John Deere riding mower and a children’s tree house.
The cottage comes fully furnished.

Cranberry Island has a total size of 58 acres. Do you like to explore? There are many walking trails throughout the island.
There are a total of FOUR (4) property owners on Cranberry Island including this property. The rest of the island is owned by the Crown.
