2004 Annual Fishing Trip

40 ACRES IN STOCK TOWNSHIP   $16,000.00 CDN
IF YOU WANT YOUR OWN 40 ACRE GETAWAY PROPERTY, THEN CHECK THIS OUT .

Imagine 40 acres in Stock Township in the Black River/Matheson area just northeast of the City of Timmins.

A property that is considered somewhat of a remote access area in that the last ½ mile is accessible only by ATV (all terrain vehicle).

The City of Timmins is approx 50 kms (31 miles) east of the property. About a half hour drive to Stock Township.

The property has SRO (surface rights only) and all trees are owned by the property owner.

The north Driftwood Creek flows through the property in a north/south direction and in one section of the creek there is a pond approx 4 acres in size.

There are many stands of mature timber on the property and some open meadows also.

This property is very private. Once you are on the property, you don’t see anyone and don’t hear anyone .

Plenty of moose tracks and bear droppings were seen on the property.

The Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) the property is located in is WMU 29

WHAT NON RESIDENTS CAN HUNT

MOOSE
Rifles, Shotguns, Archery and Muzzle-loaders
WMU(s) 29
Non-resident –Open Season Oct. 8 to Nov. 15
Conditions (Restrictions Only) NONE

Archery Only
Non-resident –Open Season Sept. 15 to Oct. 5
Conditions (Restrictions Only) Only archery may be used.

Exceptions to requirement to hunt through an outfitter:
1) Non-residents may hunt with an immediate relative
who is an Ontario resident licensed to hunt moose
in a WMU that has an open season for non-residents.
Immediate relative when used in reference to a person,
means that person’s grandparent, parent, spouse, child,
sibling or grandchild. If you qualify under this exception,
you may apply in the resident moose draw for an
adult validation tag. You must purchase a moose licence
and submit your application, along with your affidavit
verifying your relationship to your immediate relative,
to a Service Ontario office in the area in which you wish
to hunt (see offices and WMU listings, page 80). Please
note that the moose draw deadline is May 31, 2007.

2) Non-residents who are owners of land in a WMU that
has an open season for non-residents and wish to hunt
in that unit, may apply for a calf validation tag from a
ServiceOntario office. (Non-resident landowners are
not eligible to apply in the resident moose draw for an
adult validation tag.) Non-residents who qualify under
this exception and wish to apply for a calf validation tag
must purchase a moose licence and, prior to the hunt,
submit their application along with proof of property
ownership to a ServiceOntario office. Where a property
is owned by more than one person or by a corporation,
only one calf validation tag will be issued.

BLACK BEAR
The following non-residents are not required to use a
licensed bear operator:

1) A non-resident hunting with an immediate relative
who is an Ontario resident licensed to hunt a black
bear in a Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) that has
an open season for non-residents. Immediate relative,
when used in reference to a person, means that
person’s grandparent, parent, spouse, child, sibling or
grandchild.

2) A non-resident who is the owner of property in a WMU
that has an open black bear season for non-residents.

A non-resident who qualifies under either of these two
exceptions MUST still apply for the validation certificate
at an MNR office in the area of the hunt. A non-resident
black bear hunting licence is not valid unless a validation
certificate accompanies it. Where a property is owned
by more than one person or by a corporation, only one
validation certificate will be issued. The non-resident
landowner can hunt only in the WMU where the property is
located.

Non-resident hunters are required to report their black
bear hunting activity and harvest by November 30 of
the year of the hunt. To report, the hunter must complete,
sign and date the hunter mandatory report on the pink copy
of the Black Bear Hunting Licence Validation Certificate held
by the issuer of the certificate (operator licensed to provide
bear hunting services or MNR office). It is the responsibility
of the issuer to return the hunter’s completed mandatory
report to MNR.
