Local outfitters state that Nakina is well known all over as Ontario's best fly-in fishing destination. The lakes north of Nakina are stuffed with Walleye, Trophy Northern Pike and Lake Trout. The rivers also have Walleye and Northern Pike as well as huge Brook Trout. The lakes north of Nakina have some of the very best Walleye fishing in the world. It would be hard to find anyone who would disagree.
Lakes in the Nakina area have lots of Northern Pike and in many different sizes. You will not find lakes anywhere in Ontario or Canada where you can catch so many Northern Pike and still have a great chance at catching a Big Trophy Northern Pike.
Many of the area lakes have Brook Trout in the streams and rivers running in and out. Brook Trout fishing north of Nakina is among the best in the world with Brook Trout common in the 1 to 3-pound range. In the bigger rivers, Brook Trout can reach great sizes and fishermen do catch Brookies in the 5 and 6-pound range.
Most of the area lakes have great Perch Fishing. You will catch lots of Perch that are big enough to be called Jumbo Perch.
We believe all this to be true as we have had the opportunity to fish a lot of these lakes and rivers and we have had outstanding fishing.

Local outfitters claim that NAKINA IS THE MOOSE HUNTING CAPITAL OF ONTARIO. Not only is there a high population of moose, the moose get big. It's not uncommon for moose to reach 1300 pounds in this area. Rifle, Archery, Crossbow and Muzzleloader hunters can all do well here.
