File 41 - 160 ACRES IN AUBIN TOWNSHIP   $25,000.00 US Aubin Township is located in the District of Cochrane. The Township is an unorganized township north of the City of Timmins Ontario and south of the Town of Smooth Rock Falls. The Township is bordered on the west by the famous Mattagami River and on the east by Highway 655. The property was granted to the present owner’s great grandfather at the turn of the 20th century as a veteran of the Great Fenian Raids in the mid 1860’s. Proper recognition for service was long-overdue by 1901 and the Province finally passed Legislation granting 160 acres to each veteran of the Fenian Raid. It has been in the same family since that time. To the present owners knowledge the trees an the property are mature and to his recollection are at least 40-50 years old. BOTH SURFACE AND MINERAL RIGHTS COME WITH THE PROPERTY. Smooth Rock Falls would be approx 34 kilometers (21 miles) north of the property and the City of Timmins would be approx 40 kilometers (25 miles) south of the property. There appears to be a an old timber road that would come very close to the eastery line of the property. Hunting in this area is good. Hunt for small game, moose and black bear. The Wildlife Management Unit the property is located in is WMU 30. Fishing in the area is very good. Fish the Mattagami River for Northern Pike, Walleye and in some areas bass. There are many area lakes that are just teeming with fish waiting to be caught. Ice fishing in the area lakes is also very good. This is snowmobile country. There are good groomed trails throughout the entire district. This the first time this property has been offered for sale in over 100 years. Who knows, maybe the next buyer/owner will keep it in their family for another 100 years.
