Lots of good small game hunting for grouse and rabbit here and of course for moose and black bear. There might even be the odd deer to see. Getting to this property is pretty easy and it would make a very nice retreat area for the hunter, fisherman or anyone who wanted to make a fresh start for hobby farming and enjoys privacy and seclusion. Monteith is about 20 kilometres northwest of Matheson (on Highway 11), and 11 kilometres south of Iroquois Falls. Most people see places like Monteith as dots-on-the-map, but if you look behind the map you'll find that places like these often have some pretty neat histories. Iroquois Falls is a pretty nice town. There are nice old houses, a few parks, and a marina at Twin Falls that provides access to the massive Lake Abitibi.
