Check this property out !! 160 Acres of PRIME HUNTING land in Fox Township just southeast of Cochrane, Ontario and north of Iroquois Falls, Ontario. That’s right! This is prime moose and black bear hunting land. FOX TOWNSHIP IS AN UNORGANIZED TOWNSHIP located in the District of Cochrane and just north of the old Norembega Station. Crown land surrounds the property on three sides. There are thousands of acres of Crown Land around the property. You can explore and hunt all these acres. BOTH SURFACE AND MINERAL RIGHTS COME WITH THE PROPERTY. ALL TREES except for pine trees come with the property. The mature timber was harvested in 2003. Any trees less than 4 inches in diameter were not harvested. Today those trees are 9 years older and a lot taller. The new growth is coming up very nicely. The westerly portion (about 1/4) of the property inclines up about 60 feet higher than the rest of the property. Some mature timber was left standing on this portion of the property. This timber that was left is mostly white spruce and poplar. The lower portion is more or less flat throughout. This portion has a lot of good dry land and some bog area, some spring wetland and this really attracts the moose. We mentioned privacy. What make this property private is the access to the property. Access is limited to most people as you have to have the “RIGHT TOYS” or equipment to get to the property. THIS IS WHY this property and the surrounding Crown Land is a PRIME HUNTING AREA ! NOT EVERYONE CAN GET HERE !! There is good road access on Mountain Road until you get to the Sucker River. This is where you would park your vehicle. Then either canoe or boat across the Sucker River and then take the real good ATV (QUAD) trail to the property This trail is actually an old timber forest road that continued from Mountain Road when there used to be a bridge across the Sucker River. The bridge was taken out a while ago. You can drive the old timber road for about 2 miles north of the property The ideal toy to have and use here is an ARGO. They will go on water and on land. Once you cross the river it is only 1/4 mile to the property. The Sucker River is listed in the Atlas of Walleye streams and rivers in Ontario. There are Walleye and Pike in the river. LOCATED IN WMU 27 So, if you want that special private hunting spot to build your hunt cabin on, then this is the place. It’s private, somewhat hard to get to, have lots of Crown land around you, lots of game and you pretty well have the whole area to yourself.
