This exciting property offers a unique and exciting blend of northern sub-arctic environment.

It offers over 4,700 feet of frontage on the Moose River. That’s awesome!

Do you like adventure ?
The Moose River is big and awe inspiring.

The property is high and dry and offers numerous building site locations.

Located in Carroll Township, there is no zoning.

Build whatever you want, wherever you want on your property.

Surface rights only come with the land.

Access is three ways, either by float plane, by rail, take the railway , the Northland Railway operates the POLAR BEAR EXPRESS that goes to Moosonee and you can make arrangements to be dropped off and picked up or by water access.

Water access is by going upriver to the property from Moose Factory or from Moosonee. Fly into Moosonee and boat to the property.

The property is located some 60 kilometers ( 37 miles ) southwest of Moosonee .

The Moose River is 547 km long from the head of its tributary, the Mattagami River. It is formed by the confluence of the Mattagami and the Missinaibi rivers, and flows northeast 104 km to discharge into the bottom of JAMES BAY in northern Ontario. With its tributaries (also the Abitibi, Groundhog, Kapuskasing and Kwataboahegan rivers), it drains most of the northeastern part of the province.

The wild, beautiful and unspoiled Moose River is one of the longest (547 km) natural rivers found in North America.

The average width of the river across from the property is around 2,900 feet.

This river offers a wide variety of opportunities for wildlife and landscape photography, fishing and hunting.

This river system was one of the most important fur trading routes connecting James Bay with the Great Lakes. Many portages were blazed by voyageurs and trappers travelling along this river over 300 years ago.

For contemporary recreational canoeists, the Moose River represents the ultimate in raw beauty, outdoor adventure, and personal challenge.

Fish the Moose River for Brook Trout, Walleye and Northern Pike.

Like fishing for northern pike?
Good choice: if you're looking for sport, these fish are full of fight. If you're looking for dinner, they're full of flavour.
These carnivorous freshwater sharks will eat anything they can swallow without choking, including walleye, frogs, crayfish, muskrats, ducklings - and whatever is in your tackle box!
These "northerns" don't have to look very far to satisfy their prodigious cravings. The river is full of fallfish and crayfish, both well-known pike palate-pleasers.
Since it is also clean, remote and unspoiled, its pike grow big and strong - your chances of hooking a 20 or 26 lb (10 or 12 kilogram) northern are good.

Like fishing for Walleye ?
The Walleye here are GREEDY ! They’ll bite on anything.
And they are so tasty !

There is a lot of history in this area. MOOSE FACTORY, Ontario's oldest trading post (est 1672-73), is located on an island near the river's mouth, opposite the mainland town of MOOSONEE, Ontario's only saltwater port.

The Ontario Northland Railway links these settlements to the south.

The town of Moosonee is located on the Moose River 12 miles (18 kms) south of James Bay at a latitude 51 N 07' and longitude 80 W 35' .

The town site is in the Hudson Bay Lowlands, the largest wetland area on earth.
Originally settled as a fur trading post by Revillion Freres of Paris in 1903 in competition with the Hudson Bay Company, the town grew in importance with the arrival of the rail in 1932 when Moosonee became a transportation hub for the James Bay coastal communities.

Moosonee is not connected to the road system in Ontario and is accessible by rail through Ontario Northland in Cochrane Ontario.

Scheduled air service is provided by Air Creebec based in Timmins. There are several small charter air companies based in Moosonee.
