This property is about one acre in size with a measurement of 150 feet of water frontage by 236 feet of depth.

A spectacular summer cottage overlooking the CRYSTAL CLEAR waters of Shamas Bay in Matinenda Lake.

Matinenda Lake is about 22 kilometers or almost 14 miles north of the Town of Blind River, Ontario.

The property is located in a sheltered bay called Shamas Bay.

Shamas Bay is about 15 kilometers or almost 10 miles from the end of the road where you will access Lake Matinenda from the municipal dock and boat launch.

From the boat launch to the property is approximately a 30 minute boat ride.

There is a well maintained public dock with parking facilities and garbage pickup.

In 2014  a building permit was issued to construct a NEW 24’ x 22’ BOATHOUSE/LOFT STRUCTURE.

Exterior walls are 7/16” oriented strand board (OSB) wrapped in air barrier and covered with vinyl siding.

Roof is OSB TG as well as floor.  25 year asphalt shingles.

2 x 6 frame construction, walls and rafters;

2 x10 Ceiling and floor joists;

20” x 8” strip footing with reinforced rebar on compacted engineered granular fill.

Exterior wall board

Balcony in loft overlooking lake.

Aluminum vented soffit / aluminum fascia.

All construction meets or exceeds Ontario Building Code.

The main floor is designed to be a storage area for your boat and other toys and for storage.

The second level is your living area and it is designed as an open concept space with a beautiful balcony looking out to the lake.

THE BUILDING would be considered to be about 60 percent completed and now needs plumbing, electrical and interior finishing.

ALL THE HEAVY WORK HAS BEEN DONE and now comes the easier part.

When completed this is going to be an awesome building.

A NEW DOCK WAS BUILT IN 2019.

As you can see in the pictures the shoreline is typical Northern Ontario shoreline, rocky in places, trees down to the water and some form of a small beach area.

There is a small cabin built in early 70’s, on property, (approx.450 sq. ft.) that was used as a hunt/fish camp.

This old building is located about 100’ back from shoreline and is now used for tools and storage.

The sheltered conifer forest provides winter habitat for moose and white-tailed deer, and the cold clear water provides ideal lake trout habitat.

Enjoy year round recreation on this lake, fishing, canoeing,  hunting, and snowmobiling.

Go up to your cabin during the winter and see the sights on snowmobile, cross country skis or snowshoeing!

Do some ice fishing.

Lake Matinenda

Matinenda is an irregularly shaped body of water made up of three connecting lakes sharing the same watershed.

This huge 8,800 ACRE LAKE is a big lake and it is protected so that no new future lots or development will be allowed.

The deepest part of the lake is 110 feet. It has a mean depth of 63.5 feet. It has a perimeter shoreline of 107.8 kilometers or 67 miles.

Like to fish?

There is excellent fishing for Lake Trout, Lake Whitefish, Northern Pike, Rock Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Perch and others.

The lake is moderately fished with minimal fishing pressure as there really aren’t that many cottages on such a big lake.

Like to hunt?

This family cottage is located in Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) 37.

Do either a spring and fall bear hunts in this Wildlife Management Unit. As a property owner you are allowed to hunt in the WMU your property is located in.

Hunt for moose and small game.
