LOCATION
This property is located in McTavish Township, which is an organized township within the municipality of Shuniah.
It is located roughly 45km North of Thunder Bay.
From Thunder Bay you travel north on highway 17 for roughly 30 minutes. This takes you into the township of Pearl.
The property is less than 5km northwest of Highway 17.
From highway 17 you can also take a side road southeast, which gives you access to Black Bay (Lake Superior).
ABOUT THE AREA
The area is surrounded by large rolling hills.
Pike Lake sits at 290 Meters Above Sea Level (MASL). Compared to hill tops in the surrounding area that can reach as high as 480 MASL.
The property fronts on Pike Lake, but within a 4km radius you have over 12 lakes to choose from.
Some of the larger lakes include Big Pearl Lake, Sward Lake, Big Trout Lake & Bass Lake.
Pearl River flows into the north section of Pike Lake and flows out of the south section of the lake.
The area offers an incredible variety of activities for winter enthusiasts.
With some of the best ice fishing in Northern Ontario and what seems like endless well-groomed snowmobile trails as well as cross country skiing, skating and hockey, there's something for everyone to enjoy here.
ABOUT THE PROPERTY
The total area of the property is 78 acres. Only 51 acres is land. The other 27-acres makes up Pike Lake
The parcel is relatively flat with a gradual slope.
The northern section sits at 320 Meters Above Sea Level (MASL) and gradually slops towards Pike lake where is sits at 290 MASL
The property is roughly 1,240 feet x 2,760 feet.
There is almost 1,900 feet of shoreline along Pike River.
This area along Pike River is zoned Environmentally protected.
The remaining sections of the property are zoned Rural.
There is a gravel road called Sward Lake Road, which gets you to within 530 meters (853 feet) of the Northeast corner of the property.
The owner hasn’t been to the property in a couple of years, but mentioned that the last 530 meter section to the property will need some repairs in order to access the property.
Sward Lake Road is only accessable in the non winter months.
ACCESS TO THE PROPERTY
The current owner used to drive a truck into the property in the non-winter months. It has been a while since someone has been to the property.
The owner said the last 530 meters of road to the property will need some work (grading and widening).
There is a gate along the access road. We are in the process of obtaining the keys for this gate.
There is also a bridge that crosses Pearl River. This river connects Sward Lake and Pike Lake.
We are waiting to confirm from the municipality of the condition of this bridge.

LIKE TO FISH?
You can fish right on your own property at Pike Lake, or within a 4km radius you have over 12 lakes to choose from.

Northern Ontario is known as snowmobiler's paradise.
There are many snowmobile clubs you can join and endless trails to explore.
You can access the subject property during the winter months by snowmobile. You can also access many of the lakes by taking the rivers (or rivers edge) once frozen.
CLOSEST COMMUNITY
From the Township of Pearl you can head North for 40 minutes and you will be in the Town of Nipigon. Nipigon is a Township in Thunder Bay District, Northwestern Ontario, Canada, located along the west side of the Nipigon River and south of the small Helen Lake running between Lake Nipigon and Lake Superior. Nipigon has a population of 1,473 (2021 Census). First Nations have lived in the Nipigon area for thousands of years, leaving behind rock paintings on the cliffs at the mouth of the Nipigon River.
