Painkiller Road is less than half a km to the east of the subject property and runs North and South at this section.

On the East side of Painkiller Road and a short ATV ride over Crown land, you find yourself at Nickle Lake.

Just South of Nickle Lake and you’re at Game Lake.

Both Lakes are great for yellow pirch

You can also head North on Painkiller Road for 3.5km and you will reach Painkiller Lake.

If you really want a fishing adventure, make a day trip to Lake Abitibi.

There you can fish Perch, Pickerel, Pike, Sauger, Sturgeon and Walleye.

The boat dock in Matheson gives access to the Abitibi de Troyes Provincial Park which offers backcountry canoeing, camping, fishing and nature viewing.

 

There are many wonderful recreation and sporting facilities in this municipality.

Black River-Matheson is in the midst of an upswing in business growth spearheaded by the local mining industry.

 

Not only are there a number of mining extraction and exploration activities, but they are also developing a secondary mining manufacturing industry that will serve the needs of mining companies in the region and across Canada.

Their " advantage" in marketing terms is the fact that they are situated in the center of one of the world's most productive gold and base metal mining regions.

The Town of Matheson has pretty much everything you need, banking, restaurants, groceries, hospital, legal office.

If you need more variety then just drive west on Highway 101 and do your major shopping in the City of Timmins.

Matheson is the last stop on road 101 to Quebec, about an hour away, and is also about an hour or less from Timmins.
