Property Description

ORGANIZED TOWNSHIP

SEASONAL ROAD ACCESS

POND ON PROPERTY

Great location for this 42-acre parcel of land. You get the benefits of having a private and remote property, but it’s within close proximity to the municipality of Elk Lake and it has seasonal road access.

ABOUT THIS PROPERTY

In the non-winter months, you can drive to this 42-acre property in your truck or car.

The property is relativity flat throughout and the topographic maps indicate that the property is dry except along the east property line.

On the east property line you have Moosehorne Creek which runs along the whole east property line from North to South.

Based off the satellite images Moosehorne Creek opens up at the Northeast corner of the property into a small pond which is roughly 250 ft X 375 ft in size.

Over the last 5-10 years timber companies have been working throughout this area on crown land.

This is great news, as they have built a very large and wide logging road the just touches the Northeast corner of the subject property.

All you have to do now is to cut in your own driveway and open up a couple of acres to build your cabin.

The timber on this property was harvested 15 - 20 years ago.

CROWN LANDS

CROWN LAND neighbours this property to the North

This gives you thousands of acres of Crown land for your to enjoy.

ACCESS TO THE PROPERTY

From the town of Elk Lake, it is roughly a 15 minute drive (6.3 km).

From the town of Elk Lake, you take Lake Street North for 1.5km, from here you need to make a right turn onto a logging road.

You take this logging road for 4.8km and you are now at the Northeast corner of the property.

Please note: The first 1.5 km of the logging road goes through privately owned land.  The remaining 3.3 km to the property crosses crown land. Based off the satellite images the logging road looks good enough for a 4x4 truck to cross in the non winter months.

(**WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF FINDING OUT WHO OWNS THE LAND WHERE THE LOGGING ROAD CROSSES AND IF THERE ARE ANY EASEMENTS OR ALLOWANCES IN PLACE FOR ACCESS).

ABOUT THE TOWN OF ELK LAKE

Elk Lake is a community of about 500 people at the junction of Highways 65 and 560, on the banks of the Montreal River.

Where the river really widens out to the size of a lake is referred to as ELK LAKE.

The town straddles the shore of the Montreal River, which makes for some beautiful views, especially when the sun shines off the shimmering water.

Equally anglophone and francophone, Elk Lake sits at the western edge of the Temiskaming Clay Belt and is primarily a forestry town.

The town and the area offers 'great outdoors' adventures for residents and visitors alike.

This is an area rich with year round outdoor activities for the adventurous recreational property owner.

Hiking, skiing, boating, swimming, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling are activities available in abundance.

YOU CAN DO IT ALL!

ABOUT The Body of Water called Elk Lake (Montreal River)

Northeastern Ontario is a hunter’s paradise.

It does not matter what you are after, whether you’re after big game like moose, black bear and white-tailed deer, or small game and waterfowl cause this area has it all.

The Elk Lake area offers excellent moose hunting opportunities from the beginning of October to mid-November each year.

It is obvious that the big game and small game hunting is good and very popular as we observed many hunters going to the Crown lands to do their hunting.
