The district of Cochrane and particularly the city of Timmins have been important areas for the Ontario Mining industry.

Organizations such as Kidd Operations, Canada Nickle and McEwen Mines are just some of the few companies who call the District of Cochrane and the City of Timmins their home.

This rare opportunity can get you into a position to start exploring and prepare yourself for future expanding. This property is surrounded by tens of thousands of acres of privately owned land that can be acquired.

PROPERTY LOCATION AND ACCESS:

This 111-Acres parcel of land is located in the southwest portion of Deloro Township between McKay Lake to the southeast and Flynn Lake to the southwest. The north boundary of the block lies about 800 meters south of the Delnite Town site and Minesite. Deloro Township is situated in the Porcupine Mining Division in Northeastern Ontario.

More specifically the property is located approximately 7 kilometers southeast of the City of Timmins.

Access to the grid during the survey period was ideal. Pine Street runs south from the City of Timmins and merges with an all weather gravel road that runs south and east of the property. There are several good ingress gravel roads that run west off of this all weather road that provided good access to most of the western and northern sections of the grid area.  Traveling time from the City of Timmins to the property is approximately 25 minutes.

ABOUT THE PROPERTY:

The property is comprised of FOUR patented mining claims totaling 111-acres

The property comes with SURFACE RIGHTS, TIMER RIGHTS (except for pine trees) and MINERAL RIGHTS.

The property is neighbouring CROWN LAND to the South.

On the North, East and West property lines you are neighbouring privately owned land.  This gives the future property owner the opportunity to expand.

According to the contour maps, the property is relatively flat.

The contour maps also show that the property is dry, with little evidence of marshy areas anywhere on the property.

ABOUT THE CITY OF TIMMINS:

Timmins is a city in northeastern Ontario, Canada, located on the Mattagami River. The city is the fourth-largest city in the Northeastern Ontario region with a population of 44,819 (2023). The city's economy is based on natural resource extraction. It is supported by industries related to lumbering, and to the mining of gold, zinc, copper, nickel, and silver. Timmins serves as a regional service and distribution centre.

The Timmins area is one of the richest goldfields in the world, and over the past century has produced more gold than any mining camp in Canada. Today, the city of Timmins is northern Ontario’s third largest city and remains one of Canada’s major centres of mining.

PORCUPINE GOLD RUSH:

Porcupine Gold Rush began during the summer of 1909 and turned the area around Porcupine Lake into a booming community.

Two prospectors working in Northern Ontario didn’t have to dig deep to make one of the first highly lucrative gold discoveries. One of the prospectors reported that his partner was pulling moss off the rocks a few feet away, when suddenly he roared. The quartz, he had cleaned of moss, looked as though someone had dripped a candle over it, but instead of wax it was gold.

This discovery started the most important Gold Rush in Canadian history with a total production of more than 67 millions troy ounces as compared to the Klondike 12 millions. The Porcupine mines developed from these early discoveries sustained a robust economy throughout the Great Depression and into the late 1950s.

HISTORICAL DATA:

The property lies in a historical gold area that has produced several good gold mines between the early 1930s to 1964. The following past producers surround the present property.

The Delnite Mine is about 800 meters to the north of this property and it produced 920,404 ounces of gold and 73,423 ounces of silver between 1937 and 1964 from 3,847,364 tons of ore.

The Faymar Mine  lies about 2000 meters to the east of the property and it produced 21,850 ounces of gold and 13,530 ounces of silver between 1940 and 1942 from 119,181 tons of ore.

The Naybob/Kenilworth Gold Mine lies about 1700 meters to the west of the grid area and it produced 50,731 ounces of gold and 5,216 ounces of silver between 1932 and 1964, (not continuously), from 304,100 tons of ore.
