WHERE IS MAPLE LAKE, ONTARIO?
Maple Lake is located in the southern portion of Haliburton County northeast of Carnarvon and northwest of Haliburton and is easily reached via Highway 118 on its southern shores and North Shore Road for its northern shore.
The only public access to the lake is via the boat launch on Stanhope Airport Road.
The surface size of Maple Lak is 336 Ha which is equivalent to 830 acres.
Maple Lake has a maximum depth of 37 meters or 123 feet.
The median depth of the lake is 11.8 meters or 38.6 feet.
Major fish species in Maple Lake include Lake Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Walleye and Lake Whitefish.
Boat Access To Maple Lake
The lake access point on North Shore Road near Dawson Road is on Municipal Land.
ICE FISHING AT MAPLE LAKE
You will see guys fishing all over Maple at a variety of depths.
Deep 100 foot hole in the middle of the lake always has portable huts.
Permanent huts are on the 35-40 reef off the north west end.
On the north shore, guys fish off the parking area in 20 feet of water.
Same for the south shore.
Walleye have been caught in 20ft and 50 ft of water.
Lakers & Wallys hang around the reef.
