The Boat Launch is Located: Second Street & Fourth Avenue (Matheson).

The boat dock in Matheson gives access to the Abitibi de Troyes Provincial Park which offers backcountry canoeing, camping, fishing and nature viewing.
There is another boat launch area at the end of Walker Road where the road ends at the river.
From here it is 2.8 kilometers or 1.75 miles to the north line of the property.
This not an official launch area but locals do use it.
We can’t tell you how good the launch area is or how easy it is to access or what the parking is like.
You can take an ARGO or an ATV from the end of Shale Road and ride them for 3.2 kilometers or 2 miles to the property.
Shale Road is off the North Road.
Of course you can certainly snowmobile the same route in the winter time.
The area offers an incredible variety of activities for winter enthusiasts.
With some of the best ice fishing in Northern Ontario and over 384 kilometers of well-groomed snowmobile trails as well as cross country skiing, skating and hockey, there’s something for everyone to enjoy here.
