The most breathtaking view and amazing sunsets from the comfort of your private patio overlooking Lake Superior.

Here is an opportunity to own your cottage on the prestigious Silver Islet.

Silver Islet lies on the southern tips of the Sibley Peninsula on Lake Superior,  just minutes away from the Sleeping Giant provincial park on highway 587. Only a short hour drive from Thunder Bay, Ont.

Silver Islet was founded 150 years ago as a silver mine and grew into one of Canada's richest and oldest mining towns.

Now that the mines are no longer the community  has developed into a rustic yet thriving cottage community.

This is an UNORGANIZED township.

The cottage is fitted with a 3 piece bath, electric sauna, hot/cold running water, 2 loft style bedrooms upstairs and the master bedroom down.

The open concept kitchen is equipped with most major appliances and features a breakfast style island sprawling into the dining and sitting area with a beautiful local stone/wood fire place.  What a wonderful place to gather as a family or entertain guests, talk,  eat,  drink and take in the westerly sunsets.

The cottage is also fitted with 2 space heaters  and a wood burning stove for those cool fall mornings.

The property  features a rather large boat house and storage garage.

The road is maintained by the local roads board.

The road is plowed in the winter, however it stops just before the property. This section is  gated access.

Silver Islet is an off grid cottage community.

There is no electrical power supplied on the Islet. This cottage has propane and gas generator to supply necessary power. We also noted a solar panel on the roof.

Water is supplied by way of jet pump and holding tank.

Also there is a holding tank for the sewage, which is the most common and in most cases the only option available on the Islet.

What to do while on vacation at the cottage?

The area has over 100 kms of hiking trails and biking trails, swimming, fishing of course, either in the park or on the big lake. Salmon and trout are the local's favourites.  The Sleeping Giant park also has exhibits at the Visitor Centre that explore the natural and cultural history of the Sibley Peninsula including a model of the Silver Islet Mine. Endless adventures!

The Silver Islet Campers Association offers a pavilion for hosting events, tennis courts, swimming lessons and many other special activities.
